These are the second set of photos from our visit to this tunnel system.
Built during the Second World War these tunnels were used as an air raid shelter for the workers of the seaplane works but also provided an underground factory where production for the important workings of the seaplanes could continue in the event of an air raid from the Germans. This was an official visit arranged through the correct channels as this tunnel system is completely sealed and due to their historical importance should be kept like that and preserved for future generations.
